How to use this checklist

  1. Edit the tasks to match the site's scope of work. Delete what you don't do; nobody should sign off work that was never scheduled.
  2. Print one sheet per area and post it where the work happens. Daily sheets last a week, weekly sheets a month.
  3. Have the cleaner initial each box as they finish. A supervisor spot-checks and signs the bottom.
  4. File completed sheets by site. When a client asks "was it done?", the answer is in the folder.

Tips from the field

  • Write the disinfectant name and required contact time on the checklist so every cleaner uses the same product the same way.
  • Keep clinical waste, sharps and general waste on separate lines; auditors look for each.
  • Record readings such as disinfectant concentration or fridge temperature as a number, not a tick.
