How to use this checklist

  1. Edit the tasks to match the site's scope of work. Delete what you don't do; nobody should sign off work that was never scheduled.
  2. Print one sheet per machine and post it where the work happens. Daily sheets last a week, weekly sheets a month.
  3. Have the cleaner initial each box as they finish. A supervisor spot-checks and signs the bottom.
  4. File completed sheets by site. When a client asks "was it done?", the answer is in the folder.

Tips from the field

  • In Canada a WHMIS label and an SDS for every workplace chemical is a legal requirement; make it a monthly audit line.
  • A dilution control system removes most labelling errors; otherwise write the ratio on every bottle.
  • Colour-coding cloths by area is the cheapest cross-contamination control there is.
