How to use this checklist

  1. Edit the tasks to match the site's scope of work. Delete what you don't do; nobody should sign off work that was never scheduled.
  2. Print one sheet per area and post it where the work happens. Daily sheets last a week, weekly sheets a month.
  3. Have the cleaner initial each box as they finish. A supervisor spot-checks and signs the bottom.
  4. File completed sheets by site. When a client asks "was it done?", the answer is in the folder.

Tips from the field

  • Many school boards clean to APPA Level 2 (ordinary tidiness); write the target level on the checklist so the standard is explicit.
  • Separate the daily disinfection list from the break-period list so nobody signs off work that was never scheduled.
  • Leave a comment card for teachers so complaints go on paper, not into the hallway.
